Victoria Mortimer is a Partner at Knights PLC and is head of the QCAS division, providing award-winning specialist volume re-mortgage and conveyancing services to the UK lending and estate agency industries.
Beginning her career in a South Yorkshire law firm, Victoria Mortimer joined Shulmans LLP in 1995 which later became Knights PLC. Moving up the ranks from a solicitor, to associate, to partner, Victoria took over the management of QCAS in 2000. Starting with a team of just two members of staff acting on behalf of one lender, Victoria has nurtured the department since its inception. Now comprising a team of over 100, the department oversees the handling of over 40,000 cases per year from seven of the UK’s 10 largest lenders, earning it a reputation as one of the most successful providers of conveyancing services in the UK.
Victoria joined the Conveyancing Association in 2002 when it was then operating as the Direct Conveyancing Association (DCA) and was a leading supporter of its growth from a solely volume-led entity to its current position as a leading voice of the UK’s conveyancing community. Having worked on several sub-committees during her 18 years as a member, including working with a team that created a Government-commissioned report into the effectiveness and presentation of the current Local Authority Search for consumers, Victoria now joins the Board of Directors to help the association bring about further positive change to the industry.
Out of the office, Victoria proudly served in the Territorial Army for many years until starting a family however, keeps up an active lifestyle as a member of the City of York Hockey Club.
