Our Lender Engagement Campaign was launched in 2015 following a presentation from Paul Smee, the Director General of the Council for Mortgage Lenders at our second All Members Meeting of the year.
The aim of the Lender Engagement Campaign is to improve the home moving process – by considering how conveyancers and lenders can communicate more effectively, with an ultimate view to reducing transaction delays for clients and reducing the impact on Conveyancer, Valuer and Lender resources through unnecessary queries.
Our members undertake biannual Lender Surveys which monitor the progress of mortgage lenders and form the basis of our Lender Roundtables which are used to discuss potential solutions with the lenders.
The latest survey revealed a marked improvement across most of the major high street lenders and we do look forward to continuing to work with them to identify further opportunities to streamline the process.
To achieve the recommendations of the CA White Paper to modernise the home moving process we are also working with the sector to identify how a ‘reliable’ decision in principle might be sourced prior to viewing.
We will be issuing regular updates on this in the coming months so watch this space!
