The Conveyancing Foundation, through the Free Legal Fee Competition, has today (30th January 2018) announced it has helped member firm, Convey Law, to raise over £300k for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice.

The latest community initiative allowed Newport-based Convey Law to engage with Monmouth RFC and 11 Schools and Youth Clubs in the locality in aid of the charity. Ty Hafan is one of the UK’s leading pediatric palliative care charities and provides care for terminally ill children and their families. The nurses and therapists work around the clock with the children and provide emotional and practical support for family members, to ensure the time the families have together are as precious as possible. The hospice needs to raise over £3 million a year from private funding to survive.

Ty Hafan launched the Snow Dog Tails in Wales initiative in Cardiff in November 2017. The aim was to engage members of the public, Ty Hafan friends and family and local businesses in a fun activity to get them out in the open air, exploring the city and making their own precious memories along the route. For ten weeks between 16th September and 26th November 2017, the pack of Snowdogs were unleashed onto the city’s streets, iconic buildings and open spaces as part of this public art trail.

Schools and educational groups decorated 100 fibreglass sculptures standing 1.5m tall, kindly donated by sponsors of the initiative to create an incredible art showcase. Convey Law and Monmouth RFC sponsored two Snow Dogs and 11 puppy sculptures, which were decorated by schools and youth groups from the Monmouthshire Community.

So far Convey Law, Monmouth RFC and the schools and youth clubs have raised just under £25k for the Hospice. The Snow dogs and Puppy Pack will be proudly displayed in Monmouth Shire Hall from Monday the 29th of January 2018 for the Monmouthshire community to enjoy.

The Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Competition helps conveyancers to raise funds for charities of their choosing – with over £450k being raised for charity in recent years. Convey Law are founding members of the Conveyancing Foundation.

Lloyd Davies, Chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation and Corporate Ambassador for Ty Hafan, commented:

“A massive thank you to Monmouth Rugby Club and the schools and youth clubs in the greater Monmouth community for your wonderful puppy designs and for participating in this incredible project. It is wonderful what can be achieved when a community comes together for such a fantastic cause. Also, a big thank you to all Convey Law clients who took part in the Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Competition which has enabled us to support this venture and to raise over £300k for Ty Hafan over the years. Please come along and visit the Pack at Monmouth Shire Hall, from Monday the 29th of January 2018 to enjoy these beautiful creations and raise funds for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice.”

Snowdogs: Tails in Wales Campaign Director, Sara Webber, said:

“So many precious moments have been made, not only for the children and families of Ty Hafan, but in uniting friends, families and communities to get out in the fresh air, rediscover the region and celebrate our culture – all for a fantastic cause. Seeing the smiles on so many children’s faces has put a value on this project that cannot be measured. A huge thank you to Convey Law, Monmouth RFC, the Conveyancing Foundation and all the schools and youth clubs across the Monmouth region for their wonderful support.”
