The Conveyancing Association (CA) has announced the appointment of Lloyd Davies, Managing Director of Convey Law and long-standing member of the CA Management Committee, as its Director of Operations.

The announcement was made at the CA’s Annual General Meeting which took place in London on 30th April.

As Director of Operations, Mr Davies will be responsible for the management of CA initiatives – and in particular, driving forward a number of the CA’s ongoing Leasehold and Industry Engagement Campaigns.

The AGM in addition saw the re-election of Eddie Goldsmith (Goldsmith Williams) as Chairman and David Hodgson (Blacks Direct) as Treasurer. Geoff Hall (Gordon Brown Law Firm), Mark Slade (Fidler and Pepper) and Rob Gurney (My Home Move) were also all re-elected to the CA Board of Directors.

Since its launch, the CA has developed a significant presence in the sector and has expanded its membership of like-minded firms to 55 – with CA members carry out over two thirds (67%) of all UK mortgaging work and over 15% of all UK property transactions.

The AGM event was kindly sponsored by Future Climate Info – specialists in environmental desktop reports, explicitly designed to help speed up the conveyancing process, who made a presentation to CA delegates following the AGM.

Eddie Goldsmith, Chairman of the Conveyancing Association, said: “We are delighted that Lloyd has accepted the role of CA Director of Operations.
