The month ended with what we can probably describe as a fairly consequential Budget, with…
So, May was a pretty eventful month all round, and not just from a political point of view, although there were clearly major post-Election announcement issues to be resolved, not least which legislation would make it to the Statute book and become law during the ‘wash up’ period.
Thankfully, the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill got to the finish line but there was less to shout about when it came to the Renter’s Reform Bill, for example. It, of course, means that work will begin in earnest for these and other housing-related legislation when the new Parliament convenes.
Just prior to the Election announcement, the CA provided both written and verbal evidence to the Parliamentary Inquiry into improving the sale and purchase process, and you can find further information on that below.
During May, we also held our regular series of member meetings in London focusing on some key areas – there will be articles coming out next month which focus on a number of topics discussed at these meetings.
Finally, at the end of the month, we launched a new guide on digital and electronic signatures – further details below and the Guide can be accessed via the download section of this website.
