The Conveyancing Association (CA), the leading representative body for the conveyancing industry, has today highlighted…
October has been a month where the CA continued to focus on our key projects including the leasehold campaign and our continued work in putting together a White Paper covering the home buying process – which will be published in November and discussed at our annual conference on the 1st December.
We also focused on the upcoming Autumn Statement – to be delivered by the Chancellor, Philip Hammond – with a number of suggestions for potential areas and changes. These suggestions are designed to encourage greater activity in the housing market and we are specifically looking for the Chancellor to rein back on the extra stamp duty charges for additional properties which we believe have caused the purchase market to stagnate.
The CA will be responding in full to the Autumn Statement on the 23rd November and prior to this we will be issuing our White Paper in order to stimulate debate and action on the need for change in the house buying process.
