The conveyancing industry Matterhorn Challenge reached a key milestone this week, with a total of over £23,000 raised, of a target £50,000, for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice. Platinum Sponsorship from Conveyancing Data Services, together with funds from the cycling challenge from London to Brighton ensured that this benchmark was soundly beaten.
Convey Law Managing Director, Lloyd Davies, and Sales & Marketing Director, Rob Hosier, joined 40 other cyclists from Spicerhaart Estate Agents in cycling from London to Brighton. The Convey Law cyclists raised over £6,000 for the Magic Moments Charity, which sends terminally ill children and their families on a trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris. Overall the cycle raised over £53,000.00 for the Magic Moments charity.
Lloyd and Rob also raised the equivalent amount of £6,000 for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and the conveyancing industry Matterhorn Challenge.
Sales & Marketing Director Rob Hosier commented: “It was a great day and a wonderful opportunity to raise so much money for such worthwhile charities. It is great to see the whole of the conveyancing industry getting behind these fundraising initiatives. We wish Geraint all the very best in climbing the Matterhorn in August – we will do everything possible to ensure that the fundraising target is met.””

Notes to Editors

Ty Hafan was founded in 1999 and provides respite care for terminally ill children up to 18 years of age and their families from its base in Cardiff, South Wales. The hospice needs to raise over £3.7 million per annum, with only a fraction of that income being derived from government funding. Since its establishment, the hospice has provided invaluable support for hundreds of children and their families. The name Ty Hafan is Welsh for Haven House. The Conveyancing Foundation is a Registered Charity which has been established to help the conveyancing industry to raise funds for charity. The Conveyancing Foundation will officially launch in September 2015, with a “Free Legal Fee Lottery Competition” providing clients with the opportunity to receive a refund of up to £500.00 from their conveyancing fees. The Lottery competition aims to emulate the success of Convey Law Ltd, conveyancing specialists, who raised over £260,000.00 for charity through a similar lottery completion and other challenges over the course of the last 5 years.
The Conveyancing Association was founded in autumn 2010. It is the only trade body in the residential property sector which specifically represents the interests of both licensed conveyancers and solicitors firms in the UK who fall into the category of ‘Serious Conveyancers’.

Since the launch, the CA has developed a significant presence in the sector and has expanded its membership of like-minded firms to 53. Its members carry out over two thirds (67%) of all UK mortgaging work and 15% of all UK property transactions.

The CA is a not-for-profit membership association of licensed conveyancers and solicitors firms whose objectives are to improve the experience for the home moving public, to encourage greater collaborative working as it leads to greater profit and efficiency, to take a fresh and innovative approach to that process, and to raise standards and co-operation with all others involved in pursuit of those objectives.
